We decided to sell our house this spring and chose Sotheby’s to do help us do it. There is a huge number of property agents in Sitges but most are inexperienced and although charging the same commission, they don’t provide the most professional service. The process of selling a house, much like most things in Spain, is pointlessly complicated, bureaucratic and antiquated. It is not for the faint hearted. We were very lucky to have German Bielich represent us and from the first meeting, he made us feel at ease. He informed us he would take care of everything and unlike most promises these days, he kept his. I had a few small DIY jobs to finish on the house and arranged with German to send a professional photographer when they were finished. He, along with a team of other Sotheby’s agents arrived at the house, on time, they managed the photographer to get the best photos and drone shots, we all had a chat and that was it. Within a few days the house was listed online. The house looked great, the accompanying write-up was accurate and within 6 weeks, the house was sold for the full asking price. Done. It was at that point, the benefits of hiring of a professional representative were revealed further because this is when the bureaucracy begins. German, as throughout the process, essentially did everything for us. Even going so far as to save the day when I missed my flight to meet everyone at the notary on the signing day in Barcelona! I genuinely cannot recommend Sotheby’s in Sitges and specifically German Bielich enough if you want to buy or sell a property. Thank you again.
